Painting by artist - Mathieu Laca

hi patrick,

thank you for recommending to kristy wallace that she interview me for the
naked exhibit. (Article online)
she caught me off guard...painting with music blaring...and i gave her a
rambling rumination on some paintings i will be hanging and about the
unparrelled energy you bring to the ottawa art scene through your gallery
and your own excellent painting...i hope she got it all down with some
sense of coherence and excitement. later, after painting, i quickly wrote
down a main thought which i forwarded to her...she said she'll use it in
her article. enclosed is what i wrote:

I, and most artists, spend much time in solitude and silence. these
components of existence inevitably lead us to examine the world and
ourselves in the most essential form possible, to a place of truth. when
truth
is revealed - revelation takes place which is a profound
experience...which is why we often say, "truth is beauty"...even if the
truth is awful or ugly, we feel liberated in understanding that it is the
veracity or sincerity of what exists in us and around us. most artists are
compelled to achieve some essence of truth. nakedness refers to
truth...it is a primordial state of being.
